Media, PA (November 15, 2022) – Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz (BGA&F), a full-service accounting firm with offices in Delaware and Chester counties, partnered with the HEADstrong Foundation to make comfort kits for cancer patients.
The HEADstrong Foundation provides residential, financial and emotional support to those touched by cancer. One of the ways they do that is through delivering comfort kits to local hospitals like the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Kits include lotion, tissues, gift cards, activity books and other products to make the patient’s hospital stay more comfortable.
Patient Care Professional, Sarah Mahony, spoke about her experience as a comfort kit recipient. She shared how the little pleasures these kits bring to patients provide some normalcy and happiness during a very challenging time.
“It is humbling to see our staff so engaged and energized to help those in need. I’m proud of the community service-driven culture we’ve built at BGA&F,” said William (Bill) B. Gowie Jr., Managing Partner.
Over 35 staffers participated in the event, packaging over 160 kits and personalized notes. These kits will be delivered ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
“I am so grateful to work for a company that emphasizes people – whether our staff, clients or community, BGA&F is always willing to help,” said Alaina Kearney, Marketing Director.
Since 2017, BGA&F has contributed over $100,00 to local nonprofits. The firm is on track to give back over $30,000 this year.
