Founded in 2017, Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz (BGA&F) was born from the merger of two respected accounting firms with deep roots in the region: Steger Gowie & Company and Merves Amon & Barsz. United by a shared commitment to integrity, expertise, and exceptional client service, founding partners William B. Gowie and Michael I. Amon brought together over 60 years of combined experience serving Chester and Delaware Counties and beyond.

Steger Gowie & Company specialized in business accounting, offering strategic guidance in tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, leadership transitions, and property transactions. Their consultative approach supported businesses from startup through sustained growth.

Merves Amon & Barsz brought deep experience in auditing, consulting, and tax compliance, with strengths in municipal accounting, campaign finance reporting, and estate and individual taxation. Their client base ranged from local governments and nonprofits to individuals and small businesses.

Since its founding, BGA&F has continued to grow strategically through the integration of like-minded firms. We acquired Hass & Company in 2020, Dreslin & Company in 2021, and merged with Rimmer & Jennings in 2022 and Howe & Company in 2024. These additions have expanded our expertise, strengthened our team, and broadened our reach.

With offices in Media and Chadds Ford and a growing presence across the region, BGA&F serves clients in nearly all 50 states. Our footprint spans Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Lancaster Counties, as well as Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and parts of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
