MEDIA, PA – (October 14, 2024) – Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz (BGA&F) proudly sponsored and participated in the National Brain Tumor Society’s (NBTS) Greater Philadelphia Walk on October 13th, 2024. Megan Yates, a beloved administrative assistant at the firm, is courageously facing two new brain tumors at the age of 28. Megan was first diagnosed with a brain tumor at just eight years old.
Despite her current challenges, Megan has focused on giving back. She led her own fundraising team, “Meg’s Brainy Bunch,” and raised over $9,000 for NBTS. The funds will go toward research, patient support, and advocacy programs.
Megan reflected on her journey and said, “This journey has been full of challenges, but the love and support from my family, friends, and colleagues has been overwhelming. Participating in this walk, with so many people by my side, is helping me cope with the long road ahead.”
In a powerful show of solidarity, the Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz team joined Megan at the walk. They provided “Meg’s Brainy Bunch” swag for participants and had employees and their families walk in support of Megan.
“We are incredibly proud of Megan’s strength and determination,” said William B. Gowie, Jr., CPA, MT, Managing Partner of BGA&F. “Our firm has rallied behind her, and we are honored to support such an important cause through the National Brain Tumor Society.”
BGA&F encourages others to support Megan’s team and the NBTS by donating online. Donations toward Megan’s efforts can be made here until October 24th.
BGA&F is committed to supporting its employees and positively impacting the community. This effort reflects the firm’s mission to stand by its people, both professionally and personally.
