Marissa began her career in 2000 as a part-time receptionist at Steger Gowie & Company (now Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz) while earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration from West Chester University (WCU).  

After working closely with accountants and clients, Marissa developed an interest in the field. She switched her major to accounting and moved into an internship position under the guidance of Managing Partner Bill Gowie. Upon graduation from WCU, Marissa continued her career as a staff accountant. Throughout the years, Marissa has moved into various leadership roles until she became a partner in 2019. 

With over 20+ years of management, consulting, and accounting experience, Marissa specializes in the real estate sector where she helps agents, investors, and developers grow their businesses and limit liabilities. Marissa has been asked to speak at various real estate conferences and events throughout the state. She also has a niche in working with and educating start-up business owners. 

At BGA&F Marissa leads a team of tax managers and staff accountants and is passionate about furthering the professional development of those looking to grow and advance their careers.
