Bill began his career in 1995 as an intern at Eugene Steger & Associates while earning his bachelor’s degree from West Chester University (WCU). Through his internship, Bill developed a passion for business accounting and consulting. After completing his undergraduate degree, Bill began working as a staff accountant under the direction of Managing Partner Eugene Steger. He went on to complete his Master’s in Taxation at Villanova University. 

In 2001, at 26 years old, Bill partnered with Steger to form Steger, Gowie & Company. In 2017, Steger Gowie & Company merged with Merves Amon and Barsz to form Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz (BGA&F). The firm now employs over 50 professionals.

With over 20 years of management, consulting, and accounting experience, Bill has firsthand knowledge of effectively operating a profitable business. He oversees a team of tax professionals as well as his own book of business. In 2021, he was named Small Businessperson of the Year by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. 

Gowie specializes in tax preparation, planning, and business consulting for both small and medium-sized businesses. He has developed industry expertise in medical practices and has spoken at various dental association conferences and meetings. He has been quoted in American Express Open Forum about financing a dental practice.
