About the Senior Tax Accountant Role:
As a Senior Tax Accountant at Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz, you will play a pivotal role in handling detailed tax preparations for a diverse range of clients including high net worth individuals, multinational businesses, and nonprofits. Your responsibilities will center around the preparation of complex entity and personal tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S, and 1040 along with all supporting schedules. You will also manage payroll tax submissions across various jurisdictions. This position demands a rigorous attention to detail and a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Additionally, you will engage directly with clients, providing expert tax advice and maintaining the high level of service that combines our big firm expertise with the personal touch of a smaller firm. In this role, you will not only contribute to the financial well-being of our clients but also support the ongoing growth and development of our tax practice.
Responsibilities:
- Tax Return Preparation: Prepare entity tax returns including Forms 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, as well as personal tax returns using Form 1040 and all necessary schedules.
- Payroll Tax Management: Handle payroll tax preparations and filings at federal, state, and local levels, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Accounting Review and Adjustments: Review and adjust both internally and externally prepared client accounting records to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Client Tax Planning: Regularly work with clients to offer strategic accounting and tax planning advice, helping to optimize their financial outcomes.
- Recordkeeping: Adhere to firm-specific recordkeeping procedures to maintain orderly and compliant financial documentation.
- Client Communication: Engage in professional interactions with clients across various communication platforms to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Support and Special Projects: Assist the team with various tasks and contribute to special projects that support the firm’s goals and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in public accounting
- Education & Credentials : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license strongly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of tax preparation software. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop & Online editions is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and proficiency in reviewing financial documents and preparing accurate reports.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients and team members.
- Organizational Abilities: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
