MEDIA, PA (Sept. 9, 2024) – Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz LLC (BGA&F) is proud to announce that Partner Peter R. Barsz, CPA, CGMA has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Drexel Neumann Academy. Barsz’s vast experience in finance, public service, and education will bring significant value to the academy and the community it serves.

As a partner at BGA&F, Barsz has played a vital role in advising clients across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. His municipal services leadership and financial expertise have been recognized through various prominent appointments.

In October 2012, Barsz was appointed by the Pennsylvania Governor to serve as Chairman of the Pennsylvania State Tax Equalization Board (STEB), a position confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate. His 2017 reappointment by Governor Wolf reflects the trust and confidence placed in his abilities.

In addition, since 2016, Barsz has been a public member of the Commonwealth’s Legislative Audit Advisory Commission, serving as an audit committee member for the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives. His appointment has been renewed each legislative session, including his most recent reappointment for the 2023-2024 session.

Barsz also significantly impacted the Chester Upland School District, where he served as Receiver from May 2017 to October 2019. In this role, he oversaw the district’s academic and financial operations during a critical period of its recovery.

Under Barsz’s leadership, the firm serves as real estate tax collectors for Upper Providence Township and Sharon Hill Borough, Delaware County, among others. His dedication to education and community involvement is evident in his long-term service as Treasurer of the Foundation of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, a role he held for over a decade.
